POSITION OBJECTIVE:                                                                                                           

Responsible for determining realistic promise dates for customer orders and/or inventory levels.  Ensures that all time lines related to the purchasing and manufacturing are adhered to and proceeds in an efficient manner so that customer order dates are met.  Coordinates activities across departments to ensure that the entire organization is working together to meet current priorities, and communicates any changes in a timely manner.  Proactively works to resolve issues and prevent shortages and missed delivery dates.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Schedules orders to assist Production Management in ensuring optimum capacity utilization.
  • Establishes priorities for orders depending on production lead times and customer requirements.
  • Coordinates with production and engineering to verify that the schedule will work.  Uses capacity planning and maintain work centers.
  • Communicates with production to make sure the schedule is maintained and to solve scheduling problems.
  • Works with the Sales Department to provide input on premiums, ship dates, and related information
  • Regularly reviews current schedules and issues with management, sales and customer service, engineering, production, and purchasing.
  • Throughout the course of the manufacturing process, interacts with Sales ensuring that agreed upon service levels are met and manages their expectations for delivery dates as needed. Receives input from customers and/or sales about forecasted demands.  
  • In an effort to ensure that production demands can be met, consistently monitors the level of manufacturing supplies and other goods needed by manufacturing.
  • Establishes the production schedule to be followed by all related departments.
  • Sets order priorities.
  • Alerts Production Management to items that may be in jeopardy for shipment.
  • Coordinates closely with Purchasing to ensure prompt delivery of raw materials to support production demand
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Material Capacity Planning experience required.
  • Material Requirements Planning experience required
  • Prior work experience with manufacturing and distribution companies required. 
  • Should be knowledgeable and proficient with ERP/MRP planning systems.  ERP LX experience is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:

  •  2+ years experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS:

  • License or certificates in any of the above mentioned trade skills are beneficial

SPECIAL SKILLS:.

  • Strong math skill is needed to be able to figure percentages, verify figures, and convert measurements.
  • Computer skills are needed to be able to type documents, enter data, and run reports.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and a strong computer aptitude. 
  • Must be able to use various office equipment, such as computer, telephone, calculator, facsimile, copier and printer
