POSITION OBJECTIVE:                                                                                                           

Inspects filter packs for defects and sends the packs to the filter production area.  Rejects packs that do not meet customer service requirements.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adjusts conveyor belt and roller speeds on a pack machine.
  • Removes a sample from each pack to check for defects.
  • Prepares supplies, such as holders and tickets, for the next shift.
  • Writes order numbers on packs and attaches identification numbers.
  • Uses a knife to cut and separate packs.
  • Performs housekeeping duties such as cleaning the area and removing trash.
  • Rejects packs that do not meet quality standards.
  • Adjusts the speed of the conveyor belt to match the roller speed.
  • Must place the correct numbers on the packs for accurate production in the next area.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Measurement skill to be able to choose the correct holders and frames.
  • Basic math skills to determine the number of packs made.
  • Ability to read in order to complete a work sheet, to transfer numbers, and to read a production sheet.

 

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:

 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required. 

 

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS:

  • LICENSE OR CERTIFICATES IN ANY OF THE ABOVE MENTIONED TRADE SKILLS ARE BENEFICIAL

  • Works in an indoor assembly line environment with exposure to dirt, heat, and noise.
  • Safety glasses are required at all times to protect against dust and particles.
  • Protective clothing must be worn at all times to protect against injury which may include cut resistant gloves, sleeves, aprons and gowns.
  • Closed toe shoes and long pants are required. Sleeveless shirts are prohibited in the warehouse and production areas.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds to move frames and packing.
  • Constant standing and walking are required to operate the machine and place finished packs on pallets.
  • Must have the visual ability to see pin holes and other defects in filter packs.
  • Adequate color vision is required to be able to detect discoloration the filter packs.
  • Listens for a bell to know when tank changes are made.
  • Must take precautions to avoid machine hazards such as hot surfaces, moving rollers, and sharp edges.
  • Wears safety glasses at all times to protect against dust and other particles.
  • Must be able to travel throughout the facility to obtain information needed to perform job functions.
