  • The position is required for preparation and review of annual and quarterly income tax provisions for Daikin and subsidiaries; ensures timely delivery of annual and quarterly income tax provisions and adjusting tax entries prepared under ASC 740, deferred tax reconciliation, shareholder tax reporting packages and audit financial statements’ tax footnotes. (40%)

 

  • Assist with the manager and outsourcers for Company’s corporate tax return working procecess, system requirements and daily activities, coordinates requests for all statutory and accounting information into Tax Dept, maintains tax callendars being current with various tax jurisdictional requirements, performs key tax computations and prepares important workpapers and disclosures, reviews US federal, state and local corporate tax returns for filing, and ensures all tax returns are filed within deadlines;  (30%)

 

  • Provides support in tax research and planning on global tax strategies to reduce effective tax rate, and assists with transactional tax analysis and implementation of special tax projects relating to business contracts,  inter-company transfer pricing, corporate reorganizations, M&A due diligence and government tax incentive programs; (10%)

 

  • Supports corporate tax audits in the US and assists with foreign income tax audits, researches and analyzes audit issues and controvecies, and develops favorable tax positions to minimize tax liability for the Company; (10%)

 

  • Supports sales tax and other indirect tax reporting and compliance work (10%)

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and Master’s degree in tax or accounting;
  • Minimum 4-year experience in public accounting or a large company’s tax department
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, proficient or familiar with Excel, OneSource, ERP, and CCH tax research tool, and a team player willing to work in a fast-paced corporate environment.
