Position Objective:

The Senior Director of Manufacturing Operations will oversee multiple manufacturing site operations, directing site leadership and driving accountability and improvements in efficiency, quality, safety, throughput and on-time delivery. This role is responsible for managing its resources, developing and implementing an operational plan, and ensuring that procedures are carried out properly. Additionally, the Senior Director of Manufacturing Operations regularly evaluates organizational efficiency and makes necessary changes to maximize staff productivity. The Senior Director of Manufacturing Operations assesses the needs of the manufacturing business and finds ways to contribute to the "big picture" by making step level changes in manufacturing operations.

 

Key Accountabilities:

•    Define and manage Key Performance Indicators at each plant location - Hudson, New York; Bartow, Florida; Smithfield, North Carolina; Momence, Illinois; Ardmore, Oklahmoa; Atlanta, Georgia.
•    Drive reduction in manufacturing costs and improve plant variances in accordance to the prescribed budget.
•    Champion a zero-accident culture. 
•    Continuously improve on-time performance and manufacturing lead-times.
•    Support focus-factory initiatives as part of the overall strategic plan.
•    Responsible for supporting manufacturing strategy for Fusion 25.
•    Collaborate with Procurement team to improve performance of raw material supply (Cost and Delivery).
•    Coordinate directly with SCM to ensure SIOP “Supply Plans” are being executed at each plant.
•    Support cap ex investments at each site to ensure readiness.
•    Collaborate with CI Director to drive kaizen and culture of continuous improvement.
•    Hold facilities accountable for daily/weekly/monthly regimen with focus on Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.
•    Collaborate with Engineering team to define and deliver F25 automation strategy.
•    Implement improvement initiatives to reduce customer complaints on shipping and product quality.
•    Responsible for collaborating with finance to develop and implement budgets.
•    Implement improvements at each plant to improve employee retention / turnover.
•    Significant travel required- 60+% travel.
 

Position Requirements:

  1. BS in Engineering (highly preferred). Technical, Supply Chain or Business Management degree required. MBA or Masters in technical field preferred.
  2. Project Management certification preferred;
  3. Lean/ 6-Sigma Black Belt preferred;
  4. Minimum of 10+ years of prior relevant operations management experience. Multi-site experience required;
  5. 60+ % travel will be required;
  6. Solid background/understanding in cost accounting;
  7. Facilities maintenance and skills trade leadership;
  8. Footprint/Product rationalization & optimization experience;
  9. Proven experience running multi-site manufacturing business;
  10. Understanding of business functions such as HR, Finance, marketing etc.;
  11. Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development;
  12. Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics;
  13. Working knowledge of IT/Business infrastructure and MS Office;
  14. Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities;
  15. Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills;
  16. Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving;
  17. Proven success with the implementation of change management initiatives and multi-plant turn around;
  18. Proven success in building strong teams, developing talent, and managing performance based systems;
  19. Proven success in building and continuously improving Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost;
  20. Strong financial acumen;
  21. Prefer ERP experience in a manufacturing environment - preferably SAP;
  22. Excellent communication skills and computer skills required;
  23. Problem-solving, analytical, and trouble-shooting skills required to resolve manufacturing issues.
