Position Objective:

The SAP Basis Administrator role provides technical and service delivery leadership for existing and new enterprise SAP services including ECC, CRM, SRM, GTS, BW, HANA, NW Gateway, OER, Solution Manager, PI and SAP Cloud Platform Services. This role includes maintenance, problem and incident management, system optimization, performing system upgrades, enhancement packs and support packs, project support and new system integration. In addition, the administrator would be actively involved in the migration of ERP to S/4HANA.


Key Accountabilities:

•    Support the planning, design and architecting of SAP systems.
•    Install, configure, and maintain the AWS VPC, the SAP Backup and Replication System, the ABAP Subsystem, and the CPI-DS Agents.
•    Perform SAP upgrades including support pack implementations.
•    Research and provide directions for SAP software corrections including SAP OSS notes, Kernel Upgrades and SAP support packages.
•    Perform SAP system administration providing insight needed to optimize and maintain the overall SAP reliability, availability, and performance.
•    Monitor SAP instances and logs and take corrective actions if problems arise.
•    Create and Maintain Metrics and Inventory that Pertain to SAP.
•    Review and act on conditions found in SAP Early Watch reports.
•    Perform system health checks.
•    Perform SAP Transports throughout the landscape and maintain the transport management system.
•    Maintain and update SAP spool system and scheduled jobs.
•    Perform problem analysis and resolution.
•    Perform client copies, system copies, and system refreshes.
•    Assist with the configuration and maintenance of  S/4HANA Security Certificates, Application APIs, Odata interfaces, and assist with FIORI and other UX Integration.
•    Perform database maintenance and management.
•    Perform SAP security functions, such as user and role management.
•    Meet defined SLAs by providing hands on support and technical leadership for incidents.
•    Continuously drive sustainable operational excellence in the areas of optimizing services and work processes, improving quality and reliability (reduce incidents, defects, and waste) and lowering total delivery costs.
•    Work closely with other technical teams to ensure appropriate capacity planning actions and optimization of SAP services.
•    Define and implement effective and efficient support models and processes.
•    Ensure regulatory and legal compliance.
•    Ensure secure operations of the SAP landscape - maintain awareness of security related industry trends, risks, and standards, identify and implement improved security features, and apply security patches
•    Understand IT vendor directions for area of proficiency.
•    Provide product/life cycle, vendor and contract management for applications supported.
•    Support an on-call rotation requiring 24x7 responsiveness to outages and issues.


Position Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or in a related technical field (e.g., Engineering or Science) or equivalent education, technical training, and experience;
  2. 7+ years of experience working with Information Technology;
  3. 5+ years SAP Basis experience;
  4. Recommended skills, abilities, and certifications SAP Certification / HANA Certification;
  5. Broad knowledge of IT system administration and IT Infrastructure;
  6. Strong knowledge of SAP functionality as well as integration across the SAP systems;
  7. Proficient in administration of SAP NetWeaver ABAP and JAVA Stacks;
  8. Knowledge of MSSQL, HANA and MS Windows Server OS;
  9. Hands-on experience in SAP Cloud Platform services, including Cloud Platform Integration preferred;
  10. Hands-on experience in administration of SAP to AWS preferred;
  11. Hands-on experience in migration of ECC to S/4HANA preferred;
  12. Ability to lead sophisticated technical issues across a variety of platforms;
  13. Strong communication, problem solving, analytical, and teamwork skills;
  14. Ability to lead small to medium size projects;
  15. Ability to work across the IT organization and the business functions;
  16. Ability to assess and prioritize competing issues and opportunities;
  17. Ability to work as part of a cross functional team.
